Iberico

This ancient, semi-wild pig breed originated in Spain. They are known for their exceptional meat quality, with a unique nutty taste. This quality is determined by their diet and the sustainable, animal-friendly way in which they are kept. They grow outdoors and their diet consists exclusively of acorns, mushrooms, aromatic grasses and other natural products.

1. Healthy fats:

Iberico meat contains a very high content of monounsaturated fatty acids, such as oleic acid (omega 9; the same fatty acid as in olive oil), which, among other things, are beneficial for the cardiovascular system. In addition to omega-9, it also contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. All these types of fatty acids together support metabolism, cardiovascular health and the functioning of all body cells. Humanely, this meat fits into a cholesterol-lowering diet because it contains little saturated fat.

2. Vitamins and minerals:

Rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, iron, zinc, selenium, potassium and phosphorus. These nutrients have a good effect on the nervous system, the skin, the production of red blood cells and even the brain! Dogs (and people) can only absorb vitamin B12 from animal products. A kind of multivitamin bomb from nature!

3. Proteins:

Iberico meat is a good source of high-quality and easily absorbable proteins. They are the building blocks of our body and promote both the production and development of muscles.

4. Amino acids:

These are the building blocks for the formation of proteins. And so… the building blocks of life itself. These nutrients have a role in the ENTIRE functioning of the body: energy production, nutrient storage, production of new cells, wound healing and repair, etc. Animal sources of protein have an advantage over plant sources.
